| AdSense and Internet Surfers |

The traffic that is visiting your website will see the different banners and ads on the webpage and will be exposed to different websites that they would have never seen. While those people are clicking on your banners, with each click comes revenue which is what every publisher wants a lot of. The question arises though, how does Adsense help the people clicking on your links and banners? Contemporary society is composed of bloggers, social networks and article based websites. This provides a breeding ground for companies looking to advertise their products or services. These companies pay publishers to post ads and banners on their websites which is where Adsense would come into play. Adsense places relevant ads on websites that encourage the people visiting the site to click on. So Adsense basically exposes new products and services that benefit people while in turn, those people benefit the publisher. Everybody wins! Most publishers have realized that everybody wins when they promote through Adsense so it has widely became a popular advertising method because it works for everybody. However, most people today see a banner and immediately, the first thing that comes to mind is that it is useless and of no concern to them. That form of advertising worked a few years ago but is not so effective today as most people will just disregard it. Flashy banners with nice, colorful graphics are the first thing that people are going to skip over. People have learned to associate these banners as a waste of time so they pay no attention to them which is not so good for the publisher. If people do not click on the banners, ads or links, then this in turn means no money for the publisher. Text-ads on the other hand, are typically targeted to what people are looking for and most people are not accustomed to these, so more people are going to end up clicking these ads and possibly making a purchase. This is good for publisher and advertiser because it typically yields revenue for both parties. Typically, text-ads get straight to the point, showing people only what they want to see and not all the extra "fluff" associated with most flashy banners. This produces more clicks as people are not thrown off by flashy colors and graphics but instead only see what they need to. People visiting a website embrace this form of advertising because of its efficiency, taking them directly to pages that interest them. A person that stumbled upon an article about Adsense probably was looking for clothing or doing a little research on clothing when they made that discovery. The most important thing for a site's visitors as well as the site's owners is that advertising can only improve. Ads are becoming more refined so that they are more relevant and in-depth to what a person may be looking for rather than just some keywords sloppily placed on a website. Adsense has had a profound effect on Internet surfers who are looking for more and more interesting things out of banners. Companies and advertisers have to come up with better ideas on ways to get their products and services out there because expectations have grown tremendously. Even though business and Internet Marketing has become a "No Mercy" marketplace, it has been proven that simple is key. Competing to have the most colorful, elaborate banner out there will only prove fatal in bringing in new customers. More and more people are finding that advertisements are helping them rather than wasting their time and effort. |
